The task management application is a custom software solution designed to address the internal task management challenges a German-based client faces. Initially enthusiastic about Basecamp, the client found that it lacked essential functionalities and did not align with their business model, particularly in time management capabilities. Thus, the challenge was to develop an easy-to-use task management tool with robust time-reporting functionality that reflected the client's business model and promoted innovation.

Key project functionalities included exceptional task management, time management features, and user authorization via Google Apps. The goal was to create a user-friendly solution accessible to non-technical personnel, facilitating seamless integration by the client.

The project delivered significant value, marked by solid quality control, minimal downtimes, proactive communication, and cost-effectiveness. DevCom's responsiveness and proactive approach impressed the client, who found no need to escalate issues. Following the production release, DevCom utilized the communication and project billing task management solution, further showcasing its effectiveness. The task management application is a time reporting tool supporting all the business processes. Any user can efficiently utilize the app without an overhead of technical details and can simply authorize it via Google Apps. In addition, the custom software solution has a great UI and an outstanding UX.

Business challenge

The German-based client experienced issues with managing tasks internally. Initially, the client was enthusiastic about Basecamp, a leading task management tool. The company viewed it as a silver bullet to their challenge. However, when the initial flare disappeared, it was clear that some essential functionalities were not present in Basecamp. In a nutshell, the tool did not reflect the customer’s business model, and it had no time management capabilities.

The challenge was clear. The company wanted an easy-to-use task management custom software solution with time reporting functionality. In addition, it should have reflected the client’s business model and the spirit of innovation.

Project description

When addressing DevCom, the client had the complete picture of what kind of task management tool they needed. To cut a long story short, three functionalities were the keystone to the whole project:

The project was a definite success. Solid quality control, no downtimes, unbelievably proactive, and highly cost-effective. The customer could have pitched an idea for the development, and in a day’s time, DevCom delivered a viable development estimate.

After the initial production release, DevCom started using the task management solution to communicate with the client. Notably, DevCom used the system for project billing and upcoming related projects. Lastly and most importantly, the client received the custom software solution very well and used it practically from day one.
